We believe God wants to transform our community, one life at a time. One way we hope to do this is through many ministries that will meet in a brand new ministry center.
Our goal for this campaign was 1 million dollars, a little less than half of the 2.5 million, final building cost. We are happy to announce that we have reached our goal!
Our Journey to TRANSFORM
On November 16, 2014 our church began to dream about the next step for the congregation of First Christian Church. Our congregation is growing and vibrant. It is on mission with a desire to reach the city of Kissimmee. That calling is faced with hurdles and challenges that we feel called to overcome in order to "Know Christ and To Make Him Known". Our worship center is overflowing. We are in need of an additional venue in order to accommodate a third service. The families of our community are searching for quality Christ centered education for their children. They are also searching for a safe place for their families to play and build authentic relationships. At the same time the needs of the "least of these" in our community grow as our homeless population grows. All of these ministries and more burden the heart of our congregation. This is in addition to our current ministries we already offer, which are also rapidly running out of space.
The solution: Additional facility space at 415 N. Main St. This space would include a gymnasium, kitchen, and classrooms. The gymnasium would allow additional worship space on Sunday morning, more space for feeding the homeless each week, and more space for sports ministries and larger church functions. The classrooms would accommodate a new private christian school. (We launched KCA, our new preschool, in the Fall of 2015. It is currently meeting in our existing building). This new facility will allow us to repurpose our current fellowship hall helping our growing intercultural ministries.
We have officially moved into the new Ministry Center. Our dedication ceremony was on August 27.
